SLS Professional Development Travel Award
In order to support continued professional development for member librarians, the School Library System of the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership provides travel awards to offset the cost of attending conferences and workshops. Awards will be granted annually based on available funding. Applications for the award are accepted by the SLS Council for ongoing review throughout the year, but initial applications for a school year will open in May of the previous year to allow for summer workshop/conference funding.
Criteria for consideration are as follows:
- Applicant must be a certified school librarian or teacher-librarian in the GVEP SLS
- Conference material is pertinent to the applicant's job responsibilities
- Applicant is willing to present locally regarding conference material
- Application is submitted at least 30 days prior to the workshop/conference for review
